Dr Chintal Patel

Dr Chintal Patel is an NHS GP, award-winning recipe creator and author who believes that good food should be delicious, nourishing and achievable for busy families. With more than 20 years’ experience as a doctor, she brings together her medical expertise and love of cooking to share practical, evidence-based nutrition advice, simple recipes and meal plans that fit into real life. Chintal is passionate about helping people understand that healthy eating doesn’t have to mean restriction, complicated ingredients or spending hours in the kitchen. Her recipes focus on flavour and variety, making nutritious food accessible to the whole family, from quick weeknight dinners and easy lunches, to family baking and treats. As a mum of two, Chintal knows first-hand the challenge of feeding a family when time is short, budgets are tight and everyone wants something different. She loves getting children involved in the kitchen and believes that cooking from scratch is one of the simplest, most effective ways to build a positive relationship with food. Her debut cookbook, Dr Chintal’s Kitchen, brings this approach to life with quick, easy and family-friendly recipes as well as evidence-based nutrition advice. Alongside writing recipes and meal plans, filming videos and health content for Good Food, Chintal has co-hosted The Good Health Clinic podcast and regularly demonstrates at the Good Food Shows. She combines her clinical expertise with her passion for food to help readers make realistic, enjoyable choices that support their health, without taking the joy out of eating.
